Bob Dent, DNP, MBA, RN
Bob Dent is VP of Patient Care & CNO for 3 hospitals: Emory Decatur, Emory Hillandale, & Emory LTAC in Decatur, Georgia, as part of Emory HC since 2019. He was CNO & COO at Midland Health, Midland, TX. He is an academic with Emory University, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the University of Texas of Permian Basin. Bob is a past president of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL, formerly AONE). He combined his expertise in nursing & leadership to author four books, book chapters, many journal articles, & presentations related to culture, improving workplace environments, interprofessional collaboration, & nurse staffing. In 30 years he has worked every nursing position from NA-CNO. Dr. Dent has received: Modern Healthcare’s 2006 Class Up & Comers in Healthcare Admin; Texas Org. of Nurse Execs 2013 Excellence in Leadership Award; Texas Tech University of Health Sciences Center Distinguished Alumni 2014; & 2016 Richard Hader Visionary Leader Award.
