Katherine Hu

Kathy is the CEO and Co-Founder of Pediafeed, the People’s Choice and Health Innovation Award winner in the 2020 UC Davis Big Bang! Competition. Her team aims to revolutionize pediatric assisted feeding with a novel feeding tube that minimizes the risk of tube displacement. Kathy recently graduated from Johns Hopkins University studying biomedical engineering, robotics, and mathematics. She is passionate about the intersection of medicine and engineering, and has extensive experience in medical device development and translational research. During her undergraduate career, she also co-founded Maternys, a patent-pending device for the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage in low-resource settings and worked in the Sarma Lab on creating a computational pipeline to localize seizures in patients with epilepsy. Previously she has worked at Stryker, Health Advances, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She learned the engineering, business, and clinical aspects of medical technology.
