Elana Gartner
Elana Gartner has walked two different roads that led her to Four Walls Theater: theatre and social services. In theatre, she is an internationally produced and recognized playwright. She has written Jagged Journey, Runtime Error, Before Lesbians, Daughter, Pilar’s Brother, and Because of Beth, among others. Elana founded the EMG Playwriting Workshop and the International Centre for Women Playwrights 50/50 Applause Awards and has served on the ICWP board for five years. Elana is a member of the Dramatists Guild, writes freelance articles for HowlRound and is currently an MFA candidate at Spalding University. In social services, Elana has worked with people with disabilities, low-income adults and volunteer management. She helped to found Girls Write Now. The marriage of these two worlds was realized through the creation of Four Walls Theater during Covid-19: providing socially responsible theatre.
