Janan Ashton
Janan Ashton is a 30 year old actress/spoken word artist from Philadelphia,PA. Ms. Ashton began performing and studying acting at the tender age of 4, beginning At The Freedom Theatre. Over the past 26 years, she's been in numerous plays, including the critically acclaimed Marcus, or the Secret of Sweet by Tarrell Alvin McCraney and Ntozake Shange's "For Colored Girls..." as Lady in Red. Ms. Ashton has had a great number of on-screen opportunities as well, being featured in many commercials and even an episode of Forensic Files. Ms. Ashton states that she feels like her best self when she's performing, however, her best role to date is being “Mommy” to her lovely 6 year old twins, Autumn and Brian, and a host of disconnected youth that she provides advocacy for.
