Melissa Cortez
Melissa Cortez is a BSN graduated from Towson University in Baltimore MD. She has worked in Critical Care, Acute Care, Long-term Care, Skilled Nursing, Management, Home Health, Hospice and Trauma. After her COVID crisis contract at Massachusetts General Hospital, she decided to revolutionize healthcare by teaching nurses to respond to a chaotic environment by using mindfulness tools she herself uses on a daily basis. As a military wife and Mom to 3 boys, she is an excellent resource for maintaining calm in the chaos. In 2020, Melissa started her company Cortex Energy Systems: A Love and Light Corporation to enhance the art of Nursing by delivering evidence-based systems that build resilient nurses. The Cortex Method consists of an online course delivering engaging video modules, a membership to a positive online community facilitated by Cortex peer-peer coaches and hosts a network of collaborators dedicated to producing lasting change for nurse well-being in and out of the hospital.
