Doug Harris
Coach Doug Harris is in his 7th year as the head boys varsity basketball coach at Desert Vista. He has compiled an overall record of 107 wins and 42 losses. Coach Harris attended Corona Del Sol, where he won a state championship as a player and was also awarded the 1990 Arizona “Player of the Year” as well as Gatorade “Circle of Champions” state player of the year. He later received a scholarship to attend and play at the University of San Diego, where he was a three time all-conference performer. Under Coach Harris’s tenure the thunder have won four region titles, four final four appearances, two state championship games appearances, and the thunder’s first ever state championship in 2008. Coach Harris has two beautiful children, Dayton (7) and Davis (4) and is currently teaching in the social studies department at Desert Vista.
