Elle Burnight
Student at Dana Hill High School Medical TeleSquad Sixteen-year-old Elle Burnight is a junior at Dana Hills High school in Dana Point, CA. One of her first sentences was "That's not fair." She wasn't pointing out unfairness as it related to her, but what she saw as unfair to other kids -- kids who didn't have lunches, kids who were sick, kids who were left out because of their physical or intellectual differences. Happily, Elle is a high schooler taking action. Her aim is to increase health equity and inclusion. Through Dana Hills High School's Health and Medical Occupations program, Elle is active with Global Brigades where she participates in Medical TeleSquads. Elle's reach not only extends across borders but also across the lunch table. She is a leader of the Best Buddies Program empowering one-on-one friendships with her peers who live with differences that used to make them feel left out.
