Carla Sandy, M.D.

Dr. Carla Sandy is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist with the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. She graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California in 2001 and relocated to Washington, D.C. for residency. Upon completing her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., she joined the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group in 2005. In addition to working as an OB/GYN, she has held several administrative positions including Physician Site Lead. Dr. Sandy oversaw the construction and opening of the Kaiser Permanente Capitol Hill Medical Center and the Northwest D.C. Medical Office Building. Since 2013, she has been Chief of Service for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the District of Columbia and Suburban Maryland where she oversees a department of over 90 Obstetrician/Gynecologists and subspecialists. Dr. Sandy is a member of the Medical Society of the District of Columbia (MSDC) Board of Directors and has been President of MSDC. Dr. Sandy is passionate about reducing health care disparities with an emphasis on maternal morbidity and mortality.
