Jim Johnson
Jim Johnson is founder and chairman of The Standish Group. He has been professionally involved in the computer industry for over 50 years and has a long list of project, technology and management published papers, blogs and articles. Jim has authored 12 books on technology, project management and emotional maturity. His best-known work is the annual CHAOS Report on the success and failure of software projects, read and quoted by presidents and Prime Ministers. Jim is an inventor and has a patent on converting logical constraints into linear constraints. Jim is the host of his own radio program, CHAOS Tuesday. Jim is known as a futurist for his early recognition of technology trends. As a popular professor at the Antwerp Management School, Jim has promoted and mentored graduate students on their thesis and on topics such as enterprise architecture and strategic execution. Jim originated several economic laws and theories such as the Law of the Empty Chair and Decision Latency Theory. Jim is currently working on a new methodology called Infinite Flow for developing and implementing software without using project management. Jim has technical, marketing and research achievements focused on mission-critical technology. Jim is a pioneer of modern research techniques and continues to advance research through case-based analytical technology. Jim is also an angel investor for high-tech start-up companies. Jim lives on Cape Cod with his wife, dogs, grandchildren and great grandchild.
