Lindy Settevendemie
Lindy Settevendemie is a dedicated educator, equity-focused coach, and gifted international facilitator of Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) Learning. She helps educators understand how to implement this innovative curriculum. She finds this work invigorating, challenging, and ultimately hopeful. Lindy spent 10 years in middle and high school education, teaching over 1,000 kids, mentoring educators, and guiding student advisory groups in service to social-emotional learning. Now she works mostly with adults, having facilitated workshops for over 900 educators from around the world, and she thinks that the best part about that is the connection, collaboration, and creation that happens when we learn together. Lindy continues to learn and unlearn lots of things to become a more responsive, effective, and compassionate educator for students of all ages. Lindy has been the Project Coordinator for SEE Learning at the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory University since 2016. In addition to having co-written the K-8 curriculum, she plans and leads workshops around the world, serves as a liaison with US school partners, supports new trainers, and leads the development of the forthcoming high school curriculum. She holds a BA in English from the University of Georgia, MAT in English Education from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Teacher Support Specialist certificate from Georgia State University.
