DR. ROBERT MALCOLM
Brief Bio Description: Robert Malcolm, M.D. Dr. Malcolm was trained as a primary care physician and a psychiatrist. He is a clinician, researcher, and teacher at the Medical University of SC. Dr. Malcolm has conducted clinical pharmacology studies for over 35 years. He had funding from the Veterans Administration, NIAAA and NIDA and private pharmaceutical companies for clinical medication development with special emphasis on addictive disorders. He has served as principal investigator or co-investigator on numerous placebo controlled double blind trials. He has had extensive experience with the administration of medications in oral, intravenous, sub-cutaneous and intranasal forms. He has conducted trials with topiramate, naltrexone, modafinil, gabapentin, carbamazepine and other medications to treat Substance Use Disorders.
