Molecular biologist with a strong interest in the molecular mechanisms that govern essential processes and cellular differentiation in bacteria. Our research focuses on the response of the Gram positive pathogen Clostridium difficile to environmental stressors, including antibiotics, as well as factors involved in DNA replication and genome maintenance. The work is funded by a VIDI fellowship from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO-ALW) and funds from the Department of Medical Microbiology.
