Dr. Sheila Furey
Dr. Sheila Furey is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who has practiced in Richmond, Virginia for over 20 years. She has worked as an advocate for learning disabled children and has pro- vided care to children in residential treatment, juvenile detention, and her private practice. After discovering the impact of neuroplasticity on treating children and adults with learning disabili- ties or head injury, Dr. Furey became a certified Arrowsmith Instructor and has been teaching these exercises as part of her private practice for 4 years. Dr. Furey encourages her patients in to live a healthy life style by eating a diet that promotes brain function. She understands that diet and nutritional supplements may be more helpful than traditional medications. Dr. Furey is a wife and mother. She enjoys spending her free time walking dogs and spending time with her family.
