Serena Comegys
Serena Comegys is a co-creator and teacher at the EDGE Global Microschool in Liberty, Missouri. EDGE, which stands for Empowering Discovery of the Global Experience, provides interdisciplinary, problem-based learning opportunities for students in grades 9-12. EDGE students experience real-world, hands-on learning through activism-centered projects inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to being an EDGE teacher, Serena is also the advisor for Liberty High School’s chapter of National Honor Society and the Women’s Empowerment Club. Serena graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and, after five years of exploring interests and careers in juvenile justice, medical billing, and civil law, returned to school and earned a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education.
