Katherine Pickus
Kathy is the VP, Sustainability and Global Impact at Tyson Foods where she is responsible for designing and implementing a long term ESG strategy and shaping the direction of the company’s sustainability initiatives. Prior to joining Tyson Foods, Kathy served as V.P. Global Sustainability for Griffith Foods, where she designed the company’s ESG plan. Kathy also worked at Abbott for nearly 15 years, where she was the Divisional VP, Sustainability. She led the company’s ESG strategy development and shared value initiatives, creating both business and social value for the company through multisector partnerships. Kathy also served as VP of the Abbott Fund, where she was responsible for developing strategic philanthropic initiatives to transform access to health care. Kathy’s career includes time at the U.S. Dept. of State where she advanced democratic institution-building programs worldwide. Her diverse experience includes serving as Special Assistant for Nat’l Security Affairs in the Office of the Vice President of the United States, with a specific focus on U.S. - sub-Saharan African relations. Kathy was selected by the U.N. to serve as an election monitor to the Republic of South Africa when Nelson Mandela was elected president. She also was selected to serve as a member of the Executive Council on Development at the Center for Strategic & Int'l Studies in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the US – Afghan Women's Council and Women in Global Development Committee.
