Emmanuel Kalemba
Emmanuel Kalemba is currently an 11th-grade student at the American International School of Johannesburg. Born and raised in South Africa by a Congolese father, and South African mother. He has participated in service learning in and around his school community since 9th grade. After coming to realize that service is not just about helping others, but also about how it can benefit him as well - he understands that service teaches commitment and passion. Service also provides different perspectives as one can see how other cultures share similarities with their own culture rather than focusing solely on the differences. This has led him to develop genuine empathy and honest compassion. In his spare time, he enjoys singing, dancing, and acting.
