Funlayo is the CEO of Shea Radiance, a natural beauty brand that creates hair and body care products. Her mission is to enrich lives by influencing the way women care for themselves, their loved ones, and their communities. Shea Radiance products can be found in major retailers like Whole Foods Market, Wegmans, Giant Foods, and hundreds of natural and organic retail stores. Her business was born out of the need to find a natural solution for her family’s dry and eczema-prone skin. That need sent her on a quest to her homeland of West Africa, where she rediscovered the healing properties of Shea butter. Not only did she find the missing ingredient for her skin and haircare products; she found a way to link her own journey of motherhood to that of women Shea producers in Africa. Grounded in the spirit of community, Funlayo is committed to creating a positive and enduring impact for her customers, her women-led suppliers, and the planet. An integral part of her brand is to empower the 16 million African women who are picking and processing shea nuts and butter and connect them with women around the world who benefit from their artisan craftsmanship. Shea is committed to a global community where all women look good, feel good and do good.
