Tom Soderstrom
Tom Soderstrom leads the worldwide Chief Technologists at Amazon Web Services Public Sector. It’s a team of business-focused technology builders/advisors to public sector executive CTOs and to AWS leaders. They identify, evolve, and share emerging technology trends, business models, and patterns that will help solve deep technical problems at scale. One trend is Advanced Experimentation with technologies including Quantum Computing, Blockchain, Internet of Things, and all implementations of AI. From 2006-2020, Tom served as the IT Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) where he supported innovative Space missions, emerging IT trends, and mentored the next generation of IT and Space explorers. Prior to JPL, he led teams working on large scale IT technologies, best practices, tools development, and change efforts in small startups, large commercial companies, in international venues, and in the US Government arena.
