Christine Abruzzi
Christine Abruzzi, M.Ed. has 30 yrs of IT & cybersecurity experience including: digital identity assurance & federation; international standards development; securing IoT; IT systems security; info security policies; & solutions development and implementation. For the last 7 years she has been supporting the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in various aspects of its cybersecurity program, & its mission to secure, protect, standardize, and enhance the privacy of our nation’s online identities. Christine is the owner of Cacapon Cyber Solutions, LLC. When her husband, David, became the victim of identity theft in Aug 2022, Christine thought she knew enough about it to help her husband shut it down quickly and limit the impact on his life. Imagine her frustration then, when after more than two months and countless hours of phone calls and emails, David was still getting calls from his financial institutions confirming his change of address! Christine hopes that by sharing the details of her husband’s ordeal through Rebecca’s podcast she will empower others to take the actions they can to reduce the likelihood of being the victims of identity theft. She will also share the services and resources available to people who have had their identity stolen. Christine lives with her two dogs and one husband in a log home in rural West Virginia. When she is not working, she enjoys writing her novel and spending time with her beloved Tennessee Walking Horse, Lexie.
