Louis Alex
Louis Alex is a shareholder with the intellectual property law firm of Cook Alex Ltd (www.cookalex.com). He received his J.D. from Georgetown University, and a B.S. (Chemical Engineering) and a B.A. (Psychology) from Cornell University. His practice involves a range of intellectual property matters, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret matters, in the United States and in other countries around the world. His work includes domestic and foreign patent procurement, trademark and copyright registration, and related litigation, enforcement and counseling. He also enforces intellectual property rights and defends against their assertion on behalf of clients on the Internet. He has served as a Vice-Chairman of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC) Copyright Committee and as a contributing author to IPLAC’s treatise entitled “Patent Claim Construction in the Federal Circuit.”
