If you aren't at the table, you are on the menu. When it comes to foster care, the only way we can reimagine the system is to seat those with lived experience at the head of the table. Voices from foster care have a unique perspective that is valuable, sensible and personal. Elevating the voices of people who lived in foster care is my passion and I believe that when we Speak Up we can improve the lives of children for generations to come. I am the Director of Advocacy for Fostering Great Ideas. In this role my lived experience in foster care is a critical tool to amplify alumni voices, keep siblings connected, and support young people who are leaving foster care and forging a path to their dreams.
