Dustin Konkal
Dustin Konkal is a husband, father, and 19-year veteran fire fighter/paramedic turned visionary leader for one of the largest populated cities in South Florida. Having received special commendations and named fireman of the year in 2015, Dustin currently serves as a Battalion Chief for the Pembroke Pines Fire Department. His vision for a SWAT medic program came to fruition in 2013 when he developed and implemented the first of its kind program for the department. As the Swat Medic Team Leader, he manages all aspects of the medical program that serves police officers and citizens in providing immediate medical care during high-risk operations such as hostage rescue, barricaded subjects, and active assailant situations. Additionally, Dustin has spent the past 18 years teaching and instructing medical professionals at various academic institutions such as Barry University where he spent 5 years as a lead paramedic instructor. Additionally, he has instructed thousands of students in the disciplines of Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care. Dustin is a fierce advocate for front-line workers both in the way he serves and leads to empower and equip his teams with the most relevant tactics, medical acumen, and leadership skills.
