Sheila Brown, U.S. EPA
Sheila Brown has worked for over four decades with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Ms. Brown has dedicated several decades to creating healthy school learning environments for occupant health and a well-managed physical environment which assist students and staff to perform. Ms. Brown has done extensive outreach and communications work with the Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools Program, the School Health and Indoor Environments Leadership Development (SHIELD) Network and numerous leaders and staff in various school communities. Ms. Brown works collaboratively with organizations providing technical assistance on strategic outreach that educates the public about ways to manage, improve and reduce their exposure to indoor environmental pollutants in homes, schools, and buildings. She has served as the EPA Project Manager with organizations to expand their capacity to address indoor environmental issues in communities by sharing successful approaches as broadly as possible to encourage system-wide learning about ways to reduce exposure. She also collaborates with organizations to ensure that public education and outreach strategies reach low-income and at-risk populations. She holds a BA from Sojourner Douglas College and a MPA from American University.
