Myrna Cardenas
Myrna Cardenas is the Senior Director of Success Services and Partnerships at Education Forward Arizona. Myrna has been serving Arizona students through mentoring programs for the past 15 years. She is inspired by the students that come through the Success Services program. As a first-generation college graduate, Myrna understands firsthand the challenges faced by students as they learn to navigate the educational system. Before becoming a Director, Myrna was a Success Adviser and worked closely with over 200 students throughout the state. She has been able to see firsthand the impact of the program and how valuable the support and guidance from a mentor really is to our students. Myrna has worked for several mentoring organizations including Arizona Quest for Kids and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona. She has been with Education Forward Arizona (formerly College Success Arizona and Arizona College Scholarship Foundation) for the past 13 years and has proven pivotal in enhancing the Success Services program by leading the creation of its College and Career Success Milestones. In 2019, she started the Education Forward Arizona Alumni Network to connect program alumni to the organization, to each other, and to current students to serve as peer mentors. Myrna is originally from Oregon and is the daughter of Mexican immigrants. She enjoys traveling and planning her itinerary around local restaurants, and watching her new son grow.
