Pam Punzalan

Pamela Punzalan is a queer Filipino game worker based in Ontario, Canada. She does narrative writing, design, editing, and inclusivity consultancy (sensitivity and cultural) for tabletop roleplaying games. Beyond developing personal projects of her own (Sundo: The Second Flight, Navathem’s End, and an up and coming Dagger Isles Supplement for Blades in the Dark), she has credits in multiple tabletop games, including Dungeons & Dragons: Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel, Hunter: The Reckoning, Werewolf: the Apocalypse, Thirsty Sword Lesbians: Advanced Swords & Lesbians, Spire: Shadow Operations, Pathfinder: Lost Gods & Omens, The Islands of Sina Una: A 5E Supplement, Starfinder: Tech Revolution, and Starfinder: Galactic Magic. This work has earned her multiple nominations, including the Ennies and the Nebula Awards. Prior to doing game design, Pam was pursuing an MA in Literary and Cultural Studies at Ateneo de Manila University, where she juggled her teaching responsibilities with academic study. She organize player-facing tabletop game events for queer folks and women in Manila. In addition to this, she was on the floors at some of the largest esports and gaming conventions in the Philippines, doing coverage through a feminist lens. Pam shifted full time into game design following a transformative experience at Big Bad Con in San Francisco.
