Tim Makaruk
Tim Makaruk is a principal with 20 years’ experience working in special needs education alongside Jake at Novalis trust. Tim specializes and still works daily with children who present with challenging behaviors, primarily in response to their early childhood trauma and attachment difficulties. Tim prefers a relational collaborative approach to solving children’s problems in the classroom than the traditional “carrot and stick” behaviorist approach predominantly found in mainstream education settings. Tim is married with a son and daughter and in the summer can be found on the beaches of Portugal searching for the perfect wave.
