Rebecca Herold
Rebecca Herold has 35+ years of IT, security and privacy experience. She founded The Privacy Professor Consultancy (2004), and architected, built and leads Privacy & Security Brainiacs SaaS services (2021). Rebecca has authored 22 published books so far. She has led multiple teams and co-authored many NIST cybersecurity and privacy standards catalogs since 2009. Rebecca has served as an expert witness for cases covering HIPAA, online age verification privacy, criminals using IoT devices, social engineering, stolen personal data of retirement housing residents, and tracking app users with Meta Pixels. Rebecca has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science and Education. She was Adjunct Professor for Norwich University Master of Science in Info Security & Assurance for 9½ years and taught 7th –12th grade math for two years. Since January 2018, Rebecca has hosted the Voice America podcast/radio show, Data Security & Privacy with the Privacy Professor. Rebecca is based in Des Moines, IA.
