John Maly
John W. Maly is a writer with degrees in law, computer engineering, computer science, and psychology. He has worked in the field of computer technology litigation for the past two decades. Before his legal career, John worked as a computer engineer doing hardware and software design. A graduate of Stanford University’s Novel Writing program, John is an avid traveler, reader, and writer. His first novel, JURIS EX MACHINA, is a speculative legal thriller that explores the intersection of technology and justice in an immersive future where they’ve become altogether too entwined. As unlikely as it may sound, he got the idea for this futuristic tale while reading a legal journal article from 1954. He immediately wrote the first chapter, but then did not return to it for another 6 years, and the book then took him an additional 8 years to finish. These days he tries to write a bit more quickly.
