Patrice Roy
Patrice Roy Patrice Roy is director of geological information and promotion at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forest (MNRF). In this capacity, he is in charge of managing geological information generated by geological surveys and mineral exploration work, of the promotion of Quebec’s mineral potential and of public awareness on the mining sector. Working in the mining sector for nearly 25 years, Patrice Roy has been employed by the MNRF since 2001. He notably held the position of senior editor of the Québec Plan for the Development of Critical and Strategic Minerals 2020-2025 and of Director of the Bureau de la Connaissance Géoscientifique du Québec. In this capacity, he was responsible for planning and implementing geoscientific surveys throughout the province. Mr. Roy holds a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences from Laval University. He is a member of the Ordre des géologues du Québec. In the past, he represented the MERN on various boards of directors, including those of the Nunavik Mineral Exploration Fund, MISA and the NSERC-Agnico Eagle Industrial Research Chair in Mineral Exploration, as well as various national geoscience committees. He now represents the MRNF on the Board of Directors of the Consortium de recherche en exploration minérale (CONSOREM) and is a director of SIDEX.
