Dr. Jeanna Wilkes
Dr. Jeanna D. Wilkes has over 11 years of experience in higher education, currently serving as Special Projects Coordinator for Academic Affairs and Assistant Professor of Preventive Medicine at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. She has developed master’s and doctoral programs in population health science and management, biostatistics, and data science at the John D. Bower School of Population Health, the 4th of its kind in the U.S., and engaged in several grant-funded projects such as NIH BioPREP and NHLBI Graduate Training and Education Center, a partnership with the Jackson Heart Study. While serving Delta State University, Dr. Wilkes directed student life and orientation, coordinated graduate admissions and studies, and led the U.S. HHS’s Assets for Independence program. Her expertise includes advising undergraduates, student-athletes, and international students, coordinating institutional accreditation, student recruiting and retention, and student success and faculty excellence programs. Dr. Wilkes holds a Doctor of Health Administration degree from The University of Mississippi, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Commercial Aviation, and a Bachelor of Science degree from DSU. Dr. Wilkes researches faculty burnout and wellness, coordinating The Bower Foundation’s IHL Faculty/Provider Burnout study.
