Jeffrey A. Carver
Jeffrey A. Carver is a sci-fi novelist whose recent work includes The Reefs of Time and Crucible of Time, a two-part epic that continues his signature series, The Chaos Chronicles. Also popular are his Star Rigger stories, including the Nebula-finalist Eternity’s End—and Battlestar Galactica, a novelization of the acclaimed 2003 miniseries. Growing up in Ohio, near Lake Erie, he was fascinated by space and the vastness of the universe. Educated at Brown University and the U. of Rhode Island, he remained determined to visit the universe, in imagination if not physical flight. Thus, his work propels him to the borderland of hard SF and space opera. His greatest love remains character, story, and a healthy sense of wonder. In 2022, he received the Frank Herbert Lifetime Achievement Award for writing science fiction. Carver has taught writing in many settings, for school kids and adults.
