Dr. Gabriela (Gabby) Burlacu
Dr. Gabriela (Gabby) Burlacu is Senior Research Manager of the Upwork Research Institute, where she studies how organizations are adjusting their cultures and talent practices to access skilled talent in a rapidly evolving world of work. As an Industrial-Organizational Psychologist, Gabby has spent her career in research roles within the technology and professional services industries, illuminating how businesses large and small can, for instance, utilize technology to create more inclusive cultures, revamp their performance management systems for a new world of work, and adopt new talent models that facilitate both productivity and well-being. Her research has been featured in a variety of peer-reviewed studies, articles, book chapters and media outlets, and has informed strategy and technology development across a range of Fortune 500 companies. Gabby received her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Portland State University.
