Rebecca LaChance
Rebecca LaChance worked her way from an Associate Degree to a PhD in Health Policy of the Community. She was a Registered Nurse of over 30 years, working in Critical Care, Administration, Academia and as a scientist for state and federal agencies. LaChance was a Major in the US Army Nurse Corps during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Upon leaving the Army she opened a successful art and photography studio. She painted religious icons for a number of years. The icons beckoned her so forcefully that she did not “see” them as she painted. Her hands seemed to work by themselves, while her heart and mind were filled with wisdom and inspiration. She turned to photography. Her portraits have been consistently praised for the connections one could see in the eyes of her subjects. She is inspired by the beauty and languages of nature which can be seen in her landscape photography. Rebecca is a co-author of the book, “Widows Among Us” to be published in fall 2024. Her website is www.threewidows.com.
