Samantha Lau
Samantha Lau is a vegan, an animal & climate activist and an organizer for the Plant Based Treaty, a worldwide campaign that seeks to transition the planet to a plant-based food system to fight climate change. She got her start in activism working with Slaughter Free Network to ban live slaughter in Los Angeles as well as a pressure campaign for companies to drop Jidori Chicken. Her work primarily focuses on the intersection between animal activism and politics, working to highlight the systemic oppression of animals known as speciesism within the social justice space. She also emphasizes the need to use a plant based food system to fight climate change exacerbated by irresponsible water & land use causing immense environmental destruction such as deforestation, species extinction, ocean dead zone and many other devastating issues.
