Christa Tinari
Christa Tinari is the Director of the Contemplative-Based Resilience Project, which offers contemplative-based tools to people whose work serving others exposes them to vicarious trauma and stress. Christa is a peace educator, author, product creator, and trainer of trainers who has worked in Asia, Europe, and North and South America. She has designed and facilitated learning experiences that have inspired and empowered over 50,000 people to transform themselves and their communities. At Garrison, Christa has launched the Resilient Leaders Network, the Inner Transformation for Social Impact Leaders course, and an update to the training model that integrates the principles of equity and trauma-informed facilitation. In Christa's previous position at The Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory University, she translated research on contemplative science and resiliency into practices to improve well-being of students and educators in 40 countries. Through PeacePraxis, her consulting practice, she created and directed the Peaceful Schools Institute, created the Feel & Deal Activity deck for kids, and co-authored a curriculum called: Create a Culture of Kindness in Middle School: 48 Character Building Lessons to Foster Respect and Prevent Bullying. Christa holds degrees in Psychology, international Peace Studies, and Conflict Resolution and is certified in the Community Resilience Model, Transformational Intergroup Dialogue, and Equity Literacy.
