Ann Mracek
Ann Mracek is the author of the newly released book, Unpacking the Attic: A Path to Healing Your Inner Child, written in real time as she emptied her parents’ house and helped them transition to assisted living. Told with humor and empathic insight, the vivid stories of her childhood were triggered by seeing the items brought out of the house for the last time. Retrospection can be a powerful healing elixir. She is the author of My Best Friends Live in The Woods : The Adventures of Albert on YouTube. Each chapter teaches concepts of mindfulness and compassion, followed by discussion and questions to encourage conversation. Ann was the director of Aabla Raqs Belly Dance Company. She is author of the children’s book, Friendship Flies the Sun: The Ancient Egyptian Legend of Scarab Beetle. She is the Founder of Mracek Studio in 1979, where she teaches piano, voice and music composition. Ann earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music theory composition from the University of Kansas.
