Sam Daley-Harris
Sam Daley-Harris started his career in music as a percussionist in the Miami Philharmonic for 12 years and taught high school music. He co-wrote the musical revue “Becoming”, a hit in Miami that didn’t have the same success off-Broadway. Sam founded the anti-poverty lobby RESULTS in 1980, cofounded the Microcredit Summit Campaign in 1995 with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus, and founded Civic Courage in 2012. Civic Courage trains organizations to deliver transformational advocacy where citizens work to solve a problem they care about and are changed in the process. The 2024 edition of Sam’s book Reclaiming Our Democracy: Every Citizen’s Guide to Transformational Advocacy was named an editor’s pick by Publisher’s Weekly BookLife. He has a column in the democracy newsletter The Fulcrum and his columns are often inspired by a musical theme. https://reclaimingourdemocracy.com
