Dr. Richard Ellenbogen
Dr. Richard Ellenbogen began his medical career at the University of Florida, where he showed advanced skills in both pre-medicine and art courses. After receiving an undergraduate degree, he completed a medical degree at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in 1968; general surgery training in New York City; and a plastic, maxillofacial and reconstructive surgery residency at the State University of New York (SUNY). Because of an interest in correcting birth defects with plastic surgery procedures, Dr. Ellenbogen served a fellowship at the Red Cross Hospital in The Hague, Netherlands. Returning to the United States, Dr. Ellenbogen performed an additional fellowship program in hand surgery at the highly regarded Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City, while also serving as an Assistant Police Surgeon.
