James M. Blum, PhD
Dr. Blum has a broad educational base and a long history of combined medical consultation and research. He worked in cardiac surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. His work in cardiac risk-stratification was featured in a JAMA article. He has taught at two different medical schools and then began his own clinical research company that specialized in designing and conducting clinical trials for supplements and integrative medical practices. While working on weight loss trials, he developed and refined diet elimination approaches that were wildly successful for weight management. He came to Florida and joined the ALCAT team and now runs the Research and Development, Nutrition, and provider liaison. He has a running study of individuals in the program that spans a range of conditions including asthma, arthritis, obesity, diabetes and metabolic syndrome, heart disease, inflammatory intestinal conditions, depression, migraines, skin conditions, some cancers, fibromyalgia, and many others.
