Episode Description

Welcome to Becoming Digitally Resilient with IDC Industry Thought Leadership. Today's episode: Becoming Digitally Resilient in Government and Smart Cities – Responding to Disruption in Higher Education in the US. Education as we know it is progressing and changing. Some of this seems for the better – more accessibility, flexibility, lifelong learning. Some of the changes have negative implications as technology replaces in-person learning and students lose aspects of socialization and social development, engagement is more difficult, and all participants are at risk of screen fatigue. The IDC Government Insights team’s Ruthbea Yesner and Matthew Leger discuss the changing values of degrees, onsite/on-campus learning, and the rising costs and decreasing enrollment currently going on. Our spotlight on Becoming Digitally Resilient in Government and Smart Cities continues in the next two podcasts, followed by other industries. Stay tuned! We welcome your comments and questions.
