Marvin Charles
Marvin Charles is the founder and executive director of Divine. Alternatives for Dads Services based in Seattle, Washington. For over 24 years, he has been effectively helping men in surrounding communities reclaim their positive role as the fathers their children need. Marvin’s own powerful story of separation and reunification with his family, parents, and children, fueled. his passion for ministry, gave him experience, and earned the trust of other men to be their mentor and advisor. Marvin is also an emerging national leader in creating stronger fathers and healthier families. He travels across the U.S. to speak about empowering fathers, to learn from other national leaders, and to share his successes with other organizations planning to implement fatherhood programs. Marvin is the author of Becoming Dads, which chronicles his life and the beginnings of Divine Alternatives for Dads Services. He is an ordained minister, and his extraordinary effectiveness comes from his ability to see through the pain and threats of those he counsels to the powerful change possible by embracing a living God and larger purpose. Neither class nor ethnicity pose an obstacle to Marvin being heard. Marvin and his wife, Jeanett, have a beautiful, blended family of eight children, including Dontay, Nick, Marvin Jr., Jeffrey, Lyric, Devotion, Marvette, and Jamie.
