Kelly K. James is the author of "The Book that (Almost) Got Me Fired". She has been writing for a living—whether as a freelancer, full time employee, or both—for more than 26 years and is the author of thousands of articles and more than a dozen books. At 52 Kelly James found herself divorced and a single mother to a teenage son and tween daughter. Despite being happily self- employed she grapples with concerns about health insurance costs and the effects of perimenopause. After dedicating 22 years to full- time freelancing, Kelly decided to take on a day job within the corporate American landscape. Despite feeling out of place among coworkers much younger than herself, she embarks on this new chapter and shares her experiences in this latest project. Throughout her memoir, she shares her entertaining and insightful glimpse into her challenges and triumphs.
