Episode Description
David Gibbons is joined in this program by Pat O’Brien CEO of Air Tech Solutions 4U and Congressman Nick Lampson. The widespread concerns over Haiti have raised enormous fears in recent months for its long-term security and safety. With over 250,000 deaths, some 4,000 buildings destroyed and breakdown of basic infrastructure, charity efforts to support the devasted region in saving further lives has been over-whelming. However, many questions also arise in the charity organization's model and ratio of donations versus final delivery of funding to the many desperate issues in this and other countries destroyed by natural and mad-made disasters. The program examines concerns over management of the world's primary charities and their ultimate affect on humanitarian recovery efforts. It also looks at the capability of America's society to continue its traditional support across the world and that responsibility of its citizens in tough economic times.
