Episode Description
Anxiety is becoming a prevalent phenomenon in our world today. Parents are talking about it, schools and teachers are talking about it and even kids are commenting about theses feelings of being overwhelmed and "nervous" or "stressed". What many of us adults do not truly grasp is how we are contributing to and exacerbating these normal, functional feelings in our kids. Psychotherapist, Lynn Lyons, will join me to discuss her book, "Anxious Kids, Anxious Parents: 7 Ways to Stop the Worry Cycle and Raise Courageous and Independent Children"", and offer us some insight into what we, as adults, do to enhance anxiety, recommendation of what to do instead and how we can help our children and self manage these normal emotions in order to lead healthy, empowered and productive lives.
