Mark Macluskie and Dillon Nageotte
Mark, one of your Tech Team show hosts, is a home-schooled tenth grader living in Arizona. He enjoys playing drums and hanging out with friends playing video games and Nerf war. Mark has a love of robotics, computers and all things tech. He has been passionate about robotics and engineering since he was eight years old, competing and winning awards in both First Lego League, BEST and, Vex competitions. Mark won the World Vex Math Division Design Award in 2014. When Mark grows up he plans on becoming an engineer and working in the robotics.
Mark’s other passion is publically speaking about autism. He lost his diagnosis of autism when he was eight years old. He speaks nationally about autism and has been interviewed by Lifetime TV, ABC, NBC news, Good Morning America and was on the cover of the New York Times Magazine. Mark successfully lobbied the Arizona Legislature for Steven’s Law, an autism insurance mandate, including testifying before the Senate Health Committee. Mark hopes to demonstrate that children can rise above the diagnosis of autism.
Mark is excited to share his interest in robotics, engineering, science and technology with kids across America.
Dillon, one of your Tech Team show hosts, is sixteen years old, and is a self-proclaimed ‘relatively typical’ teenager.
He is accomplished as a ‘black belt’ in sarcasm and puns, multiple awards for being on social media too much, and an Olympic gold medal in going ecstatic over his youth group, YoungLife.
Dillon enjoys playing, watching, and learning about sports. Although that may come up in conversation on the Tech Team, Dillon tries to keep his fan-boying to a minimum when talking about his favorite teams.
He also enjoys hanging out and talking with friends, playing (some) video games, and listening to music.
Dillon has participated in early college classes since age fourteen; classes included multiple math classes, computer science, and many more to come. He anticipates taking some business classes to help him achieve his goal of becoming an entrepreneur.
His favorite thing about being on the Tech Team is the opportunity to be up-to-date with all the latest and greatest technology. Dillon shared, “Our world is constantly becoming more and more technologically advanced, so to be able to learn and discuss technology, I think is incredible.”
Dillon has expressed how honored he feels to be a host on the Tech Team, and share his thoughts with the world. He is looking forward to sharing news with you, and hopefully interacting with listeners on social media.
