Episode Description
Host Cathy Thurman, and her frequent Guest, Pat Thurman (Licensed Practicing Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, Shaman & Reiki Healer) will be discussing Part 2 of the Chinese Five Elements Theory, which covers the physical and energetic components of the Elements of Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal. This introduction overlaps with an explanation of Tony Robbins' Six Basic Human Needs (Certainty, Variety, Significance, Love & Connection, Growth, and Contribution), a great starting point to identify suitable goals for the New Year. Cathy and Pat will be sharing with you how the Meridian System within the biofield can influence your physical health and provide a basic understanding of how holistic healers balance the Meridians. They also provide tips on how to balance the Meridians through simple lifestyle changes. The Chinese Five Elements and Six Basic Human Needs are some of the initial tools Cathy teaches clients to help them understand themselves and others better (without judgment), but also to further understand their Soul's calling, establish more clarity on what they came here to do and to find compatible friends and partners. In the first half the show, Cathy will be walking listeners through two simple Hand Mudras that can be used for grounding, centering and mindfulness purposes throughout the day.

At age 18, Cathy Thurman began her career as a Nurse’s Aide and EKG Technician. She worked in the hospitals, while completing her degree in Speech Pathology. As a Speech Therapist, she worked with brain injury. She supplemented her education in Depth Psychology to assist her patients with their trauma. Depth Psychology awakened her to inner-child work and initiated the exploration of her greatest passion, The Soul’s Journey. 17 years ago, Cathy turned ill and was misdiagnosed. This led to her studies in Eastern Medicine and prompted a passionate career change. She considers her illness a blessing in disguise. She believes Western and Eastern Medicine have their purpose. However, she feels Energy Medicine saved her life. She finds holistic methods to be more preventative, and it’s her mission to increase awareness of the efficacy of alternative healing. Cathy has certifications in Life Coaching, Hypnosis, Herbal Remedies, Crystals, Essential Oils, Acupressure, NADA Acupuncture, Reflexology, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Sujok, Vortex and Theta Healing, Eden Method, Light and Sound Therapy, Egyptian Healing and Reiki. Cathy now specializes in trauma healing. She developed an effective treatment program, with a safe and balanced approach to release and process painful emotions and memories stored in the body. Clients travel to see her from all over the country. She attributes the success of her program to the profound healing of bodywork and tutorials on the soul’s journey.
